Late this afternoon, Andrew's friend, Stephen, took this photo with his iPhone shortly after Andrew was taken off the respirator and the breathing tube was removed. The wonders of technology! Even more important to me than the scientific wonder is the visual link it now gives me to my son, providing a sort of "icon" on which I can focus as I join the many other people who are thinking of and praying for Andrew's recovery. There are no illusions in my mind that the road ahead is a long one. I learned that the last time he went through this almost ten years ago. But, by God's grace and mercy, there is new hope today that "all shall be well". Please join me in giving thanks.
